Tournaments

The very first edition of the World Console Championship will take place during the 6th, 7th, and 8th of December 2008, in the Auditorium Parco Della Musica, in Rome.

The first italian console-specialized videogames tournament, for professional and occasional, italian and foreign players, will be held inside the Auditorium's garages, on a 3.500 square meters area. Around 4.000 players are awaited for the 3 days of tournament. Many famous players from the world and europe top 10 will take part to the event aswell.

Cash prizes will be given for the top 8, top 16 or top 64 players/clans of each game; the total prize pool is 80.000 euros.

The tournaments will be held for 6 games: Pro Evolution Soccer 2009, Gears of War 2, Call of duty 4 (PC), Halo 3, Guitar Hero 3 and SBK 08: Superbike World Championship.

Considering the high number of participants awaited, we estimate from 1 to 2 rounds of qualification, followed by multiple rounds where the first 2 players of every round advance to the finals. (6th and 7th of December).

The day of Monday 8th of December will be totally dedicated to the finals, with the first part of the day given to finish the rounds and from the afternoon the finals will be played on the main stage with the direct elimination formula.
