The change of suffix for Pro Evolution coincides to a chain of interesting and important innovations: first, the Konami's new developing strategy, as for the 2008 title they were not ready yet to support the weight of a multiplatform next-gen title that promised “fireworks” for its release.
Shingo “Seabass” Takatsuka, creator of the saga, asserts in an interview that PES 2009 will have nothing in common with the soccer simulations seen until now; crucial gameplay changes will be the main novel. Seabass promises a bigger visual impact compared to the past PES, with a graphic engine developed ad-hoc for the next-gen consoles; direction where, the Konami seems to concentrate all the efforts; he promises 60 constant fps aswell, but without the flaws of the 2008 edition, like stuttering and gameplay freezing.
The Konami also succeded in obtaining the official Fifa licenses of all the biggest world soccer championships, an attractive news for who played years and years of master league; it will be possible to face the biggest world competitions, everything with licenses, faces and team shirts, strictly and, for the first time, totally official.
With all these promises that, we hope, will be kept, this new PES will bear down on the market with a strong echo in the videogames world... Therefore you will have until 6th of December to train both yourstrategy and skill in order to face other 1.024 players and win the best and most spectacular PES tournament, gaining fame in the e-sports and a huge prize of 12.000 euros given to the Champion !!
